• How do I extract audio from a video clip with CyberLink PowerDirector?

  Right Click on the video timeline and click on the “Unlink” audio and video button. It is a button/function you find on the right-click menu. The video will the then split into an audio part and a video part.

• The preview is not very smooth, how can I change this?

  Start by disabling the tracks, select a lower preview resolution, and click “Render Preview.” Click on the non real-time preview mode, save it, and then close any other background programs you have running in order to free up any spare RAM on your computer. This should fix your lag issues.

• Does the PowerDirector support 16:9 aspect ratio?

  PowerDirector supports both the 4:3 aspect ratio and 16:9 aspect ratio video. This means you may produce a capture-to-output video in a widescreen format with the PowerDirector.

• How do I rotate my video?

  Enter “Clip preview” mode, and click and drag the crosshairs that show on the video. Move and rotate the crosshairs and the video will move both in terms of its location on the video output, and in terms of which way the video is rotated.

• My CyberLink PowerDirector keeps freezing, crashing, or closing, what can I do to stop this?

  If it keeps freezing, check to see if you have the most recent version of this software. Check the minimum system requirements, and update your graphics card driver to a newer version, which you can download from the NVIDIA, AMD and Intel websites. Check to find out if you are running the program as the Administrator, and run the application with no other applications running at the time.

• I keep getting the burning error code when creating DVDs, how do I stop this?

  You will need to update the burner firmware. If that doesn't work, click Windows Start, then use “Run” and type in “dxdiag” and run. Save all the information. You may use this information when speaking with the CyberLink PowerDirector customer service department. They should be able to fix your problem from there.

• PowerDirector won't install on my PC, why is this?

  If the PowerDirector won't install on your computer, it could be the problem that originated during a previous installation. The issue usually occurs because the previous build was not uninstalled fully. Clean up the remnants of the old program (preview or full version) and remove the existing versions. You may now retry installing. Another reason may be that QuickTime has not been installed correctly and PowerDirector can’t install because of this.

• Can CyberLink PowerDirector be used on Windows 10?

  CyberLink PowerDirector was built to run on Windows 7, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Windows 10 has a compatibility tool. Select the option that says, “This program used to work on an older version of Windows.” When given the option, select Windows 7, XP or Vista.

• Why can’t I upload any of my videos onto YouTube?

  The reason why you are unable to upload videos onto your YouTube page is because YouTube uses a MIME string format. To fix this problem you, will need to install and update the most recent version of CyberLink PowerDirector and hopefully that will do the trick.

• Am I able to capture content from DVDs?

  If the DVD is an unlocked or Region 0 DVD, then you may easily capture content from it. However, most commercial DVDs have copyright protection, and you are unable to capture content from these.
